The short version
wage.is does not set any first-party cookies and does not build a profile of you. We collect only anonymous, aggregate analytics. wage.is does not sell or share your data.

Local storage
We store two preferences in your browser's local storage to remember your settings between visits:
Theme preference
Your choice of light or dark mode. Key: theme
Currency preference
Your preferred display currency (local, USD, or EUR). Key: currency
This data never leaves your browser. It is not sent to any server. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings. These preferences are considered "strictly necessary" for delivering functionality you explicitly requested, and do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.
Cookies
wage.is does not set any first-party cookies. When advertisements are displayed on this site, third-party advertising providers may set cookies. See the Advertising section below for details.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics
wage.is uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is automatically injected at Cloudflare's edge on every page. It collects only aggregate data: page views, visit counts, top referrers, countries, and device types.

- Data is processed at Cloudflare's edge and never reaches our servers
Umami Analytics (self-hosted)
We also run Umami, an open-source analytics tool, on our own server infrastructure in the EU. Umami is cookieless by design and collects no personal data.

- Does not collect or store raw IP addresses
- Does not track individual users across sessions. Visitor counts use a daily-rotating hash; the hash cannot be used to link visits across days.
- Does not share data with any third party
- All data is stored on our own servers and never leaves our infrastructure
No consent banner is required for either analytics tool because neither sets cookies, stores personal data, or tracks individual users in any persistent way.
Advertising
Third-party cookies and tracking
wage.is does not set any first-party cookies. When we display advertisements through Google AdSense or other partners, those advertising providers may set cookies and use tracking technologies. These are used for delivering relevant ads, measuring ad performance, frequency capping, and fraud prevention.
Google AdSense and other advertising partners may also receive and use your IP address for ad measurement, personalization, and fraud prevention, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Where consent is required, this processing occurs only with your consent through the cookie banner.

Infrastructure
wage.is pages are served via Cloudflare's global edge network as static files. No application server processes your page requests. Cloudflare handles delivery and injects its own edge-level analytics as described above.
Our self-hosted Umami analytics server runs on Railway infrastructure. It receives only the anonymous beacon data described in the Analytics section. No request logs, personal data, or raw IP addresses are retained.
All page assets, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and images, are served from our own domain. wage.is does not embed social media scripts, third-party fonts, or tracking pixels beyond our analytics tools. When advertising is active on a page, ad units served by our advertising partners will load assets from their own networks.
Children's privacy
wage.is is a general reference site that does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
