Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 2026

Our commitment

wage.is is committed to making wage and income data accessible to all users. We target conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which also satisfies Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Conformance status

wage.is substantially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Substantially conforms" means the majority of success criteria are met. We do not claim full conformance; no site of meaningful complexity can make that claim with certainty.

How we test

  • Automated accessibility checks run on every build using axe-core
  • Keyboard navigation tested manually across all page types
  • Color contrast verified to meet the 4.5:1 ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components
  • Focus indicators tested for visibility per WCAG 2.2 focus appearance guidance
  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions
  • Responsive layout tested at 400% zoom with no horizontal scroll
  • Charts and data visualizations include accessible text alternatives

Known limitations

No known accessibility issues at this time. We continue to test as new pages and features are added.

Assistive technology compatibility

wage.is is designed to work with:

  • Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom up to 400%
  • High contrast and forced colors modes
